In order to cope with the high service demand and persistent manpower shortage, we will implement the following service arrangements:
1. Closure of dental surgeries
General dental clinics will reschedule all existing appointments according to the original booking dates. It is anticipated that the rescheduled appointments would be postponed for an average of several months. Nevertheless, the rescheduled appointments may further be postponed in view of the manpower situation of clinics. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Please pay attention to any notification from the clinic. We appreciate very much your kind understanding.
2. Revamped booking arrangement at dental clinics
In order to avoid inconvenience to patients by repeated appointment rescheduling, with effect from 5 July 2023, a revamped booking arrangement will be implemented for registration of new appointments at general dental clinics. The clinic will inform the patient through SMS of a booking reference number and an estimated waiting time, instead of an appointment date with time, under the new arrangement. The clinic will only notify the patient of the appointment details through another SMS around 3 months prior to the actual appointment date.
All existing appointments that have already been confirmed will not be affected by this new arrangement.
Booking arrangement for dental prosthetics (denture, crown, and bridge) will remain unchanged. Patients will be informed of the appointments once confirmed.
