The Office for Regulation of Private Healthcare Facilities (ORPHF), formerly the Office for Registration of Healthcare Institutions (ORHI), is established in April 2016.
Its Licensing Division oversees the licensing and regulatory functions underThis link will open in a new windowthe Private Healthcare Facilities Ordinance (Cap. 633)andThis link will open in a new windowthe Medical Clinics Ordinance (Cap. 343);and assist the Hong Kong Police Force in the investigation of suspected illegal medical practice.
The Quality and Standards Division oversees exemption of small practice clinics underThis link will open in a new windowthe Private Healthcare Facilities Ordinance (Cap. 633), development of standards and specifications for private healthcare facilities, provide secretariat and/or research support to advisory committees and Committee on Complaints against Private Healthcare Facilities, support the Health Bureau in private hospital development, and assist Education Bureau in school health matters underThis link will open in a new windowthe Education Ordinance (Cap. 279).
