International Nurses Day 2024
International Nurses Day 2024 is just around the corner! The International Council of Nurses has designated May 12 every year as International Nurses Day. The theme for International Nurses Day 2024 is “Our Nurses. Our Future. The economic power of care.”, which aims to demonstrate how strategic investment in nursing can bring about considerable economic and societal benefits. The nursing profession should pursue continuous learning so as to prepare ourselves to be Advanced Practice Nurses in different nursing specialties. Being public health nurses, we should always be prepared to handle public health emergencies. Thus, it is essential to invest in nurses’ training to strive for the betterment of nursing standards and quality of care with the ultimate goal of protecting public health.
To echo the International Nurses Day 2024, the Department of Health (DH) will organise a series of activities, including launching a thematic webpage, creating a photo gallery and posting on social media platforms to express gratitude and appreciation to all nurses, particularly for the public health nursing team of the DH. Public health nurses all along spare no effort in providing public service, fully demonstrating their professionalism, competence and diligence. We look forward to seeing more nurses joining our team to serve the public.
